Container yard is one of the main service providers for the container shipping industry. Which emerged as a plain ground to store the empty containers to a value creating entity for the container business in the past several decades from the birth of containerization in 1960’s. It was by the design of the containerized liner services, containers needed to store close to the exporter for fast collection and stuff cargo just to send the port prior vessel arrival. Therefore the container yards opened close to the cargo warehouses and export zones. Carriers directed the importers’ transporters to those yards to release the empty containers. Meantime, Carriers brought empty containers all the way to satisfy the demand of the shippers. By 2018, the global containerized trade has reached 160 million Teus. So imagine the activities in demand for storing and handling empty containers at the container yards globally.
